Fujitsu scansnap driver for image capture on a mac sierra

Problem: This put me off upgrading MacOS past 10.14, and I was about to buy VueScan to allow me to upgrade MacOS to keep in touch with newer OS features. They wanted customers to buy newer models with a new 64-bit application. With the updates to MacOS to be 64-bit applications only Fujitsu announced that they would drop support for the 32-bit application for older models of Scansnap. I have an at least decade old S500M model which is hardware still going strong.
